About this file

This is Addendum One to an Invitation to Bid (RFB-124-25) issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, for roof and gutter repair work at three Kentucky Transportation Cabinet facilities located in Graves, McLean, and Metcalfe counties in Western Kentucky. The original bid documents were dated October 18, 2024, and this addendum was issued on November 20, 2024. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid forms or face potential disqualification. The addendum was prepared by Kesler Simpson Architects, LLC and directs bidders to refer to a separate addendum to be distributed by Lynn Imaging for all additions, deletions, and changes to specifications and drawings.

The addendum clarifies insulation requirements at two specific project locations. At the Graves County Traffic Garage, where portions of the roof feature corrugated metal deck that cannot accommodate flute filler insulation, contractors must provide continuous 2-inch rigid polyisocyanurate insulation instead, with the remainder of the roof system (1/2-inch cover board and related components) remaining as detailed in original contract documents. At the McLean County Maintenance Garage, which has an existing PVC roof system, contractors must demolish the PVC system down to the original metal roof and apply the appropriate insulation type based on the underlying metal deck configuration: flute filler polyiso for ribbed metal roof panels or 2-inch continuous polyiso for corrugated metal.

ADDENDUM #1

This Addendum forms a part of the Contract and clarifies, corrects or modifies the original Bid Documents, dated October 18, 2024. Acknowledge receipt of this addendum in space provided on bid form. Failure to do so may subject bidder to disqualification.

This addendum contains one (1) sheet including this sheet.

A. Portions of the Graves County Traffic Garage roof have a corrugated metal roof deck that cannot accept a ‘flute filler’ type of insulation. At all locations that have corrugated metal roof deck, provide continuous 2” rigid polyisocyanurate insulation instead of the ‘flute filler’ insulation. The rest of the new roof system (1/2” cover board, etc.) remains as detailed on the contract documents.

B. The McLean County Maintenance Garage has a PVC roof installed. Once the PVC roof system is demolished down to the original metal roof, use the appropriate form of insulation: ‘flute filler’ polyiso for ribbed metal roof panels or 2” continuous polyiso for corrugated metal.
