Addendum

Contractor Questions:

1. Can you tell us if the existing elevator cable has the capability of handling the video feed from the cab? If not, do we need to install a cable in the shaft for the cab camera?

BCCLT Response: Contractor shall be responsible for replacing the existing elevator cables to accommodate cab cameras.

2. How many credentials do we need to include in our quote? Do they need to be cards or key fobs?

BCCLT Response: Provide as a minimum of 2,000. Provide cards in lieu of what is shown on specified in Section 282300.

3. Drawing E0.1B, Note 1 says to provide a POE Switch, however the riser diagram on the same page as well as on E0.1A shows the Network Switch as Not In Contract. Please clarify if we are supposed to provide network switches or just POE power for the cameras by using POE Injectors.

BCCLT Response: Contractor shall be responsible for providing POE Switch to provide power for the cameras as specified on the Drawings and Specifications.

4. Specification 271513 lists CommScope Systimax as the acceptable manufacturer, would any other manufacturers, such as Panduit or Legrand be acceptable so long as we can still provide the 25-Year warranty?

BCCLT Response: Other manufacturers are acceptable as long as the specifications are met.

5. Who provides the Poe Switches for the Cameras?

BCCLT Response: Refer to Question 3 for answer.

6. Who provides the Patch Panels for the cameras?

BCCLT Response: Contractor shall be responsible for providing Patch Panels.

7. Do the cameras in Building #30 (Recreation) need to be in EMT Conduits or can we free wire in bridal rings?

CCLT Response: Provide EMT conduit.

Addendum

8. How much retention time does the State require for the video and at what image rate? 30 days at 15 IPS?

BCCLT Response: Provide minimum 30 days at 12 IPS.

9. Is a UPS required in each rack for the PoE Switches and Camera Server and if so, who provides them?

BCCLT Response: Yes.

10. Are there any workstations/monitors needed for the CCTV and if so, who provides them?

BCCLT Response: No.

11. Do you have the access control drawings for the nursing facility? We did not find them on Lynn imaging or Construction Connect.

BCCLT Response: No.

12. During the walk thru we were shown doors entering building 31 & 33 that were supposed to get access control as well as automatic door openers, however these doors are not shown on the project drawings, are we supposed to provide access control and automatic door openers for these doors?

BCCLT Response: Automatic door openers are not required. Provide access control for two staff doors.

13. No electronic locks are shown on the floor plans, the Access Control Raceway Detail on EO.1A shows an existing lock, does this mean that all electric locks are existing? If not, can a hardware schedule for each access control door be provided to indicate which doors are to receive electric locks and what type of electric lock?

BCCLT Response: Utilize existing door hardware. It is the contractor’s responsibility to integrate existing door hardware to new access control system.

14. All Access Control Doors show Note 3,4 for 120v circuit and Power Supply above the door. If we are providing lock power from the access control panels in the IDF Rooms, is note 3,4 needed?

BCCLT Response: Refer to answer for Question 13.

15. Are we to use the existing electric door strikes or are we to provide new? If using existing, do we know that they work?

BCCLT Response: Refer to answer for Question 13.

Addendum

16. We only were able to see two existing access control doors on the walk through, are all doors typical to the ones we saw using electric strikes?

BCCLT Response: Yes. However, it is the contractor’s responsibility to integrate existing door hardware to the new system.

17. During the walk through there was discussion of two ADA Auto Door Openers to be installed. The plans or specifications do not show any Auto Door Openers. Is there going to be any of these and if so, on which doors and who provides them?

BCCLT Response: There will not be any ADA doors as part of this project.

18. The specifications call for the Access Control Software to be able to integrate with Easy Lobby but do not ask for it to be provided. Is Western State using Easy Lobby now? If not, are we to provide it?

BCCLT Response: Contractor shall be responsible for providing this.

19. Are there any access control workstations that need to be provided or is the State providing any workstations needed?

BCCLT Response: Refer to Question 10 for answer.

20. 271513-3 1.8 Quality Assurance – This section stipulates the contractor must have certified BICSI personnel on staff. It specifies an RCDD for preparation of shop drawings and supervision of testing.

Will you accept a BICSI Technician in lieu of an RCDD?

BCCLT Response: Yes.

21. 271513-5 2.3 B Approved Manufacturer – Will you add Panduit as an approved manufacturer? We are a Panduit partner and able to offer a 25 year manufacturer warranty?

BCCLT Response: Refer to Question 4 for the answer.
