About this file

This is Addendum One to Request for Bid No. RFB-159-26 issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, for the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice. The project involves security upgrades and door modifications at the Warren Regional Detention Center located at 1020 Kentucky Street, Bowling Green, Kentucky. The addendum provides clarifications and modifications to the original specifications and drawings for the project. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the requirement that contractors complete work in progress on all doors in a designated work area by the end of each business day to permit resident occupancy from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on weekdays and throughout weekends. The contractor must work with entire dormitory units available at one time with no residents present during work hours. All painting of food passes and doors is excluded from the contract and will be performed by the owner.

Key specification clarifications include confirmation that rectangular wire mesh for heavy-duty wire mesh partitions shall be 6 gauge as specified rather than 10 gauge as shown in the drawings, and that Claborn Manufacturing Company is acceptable as a manufacturer for detention enclosure sally ports. The contractor must provide spare hardware including two locks of each type, six hinges of each type, four door pulls and four flush pulls of each type, three complete food pass door sets with associated hardware, and five percent additional fasteners and miscellaneous accessories for installation. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid form.
