About this file
This document is Addendum No. 4 to RFP-0047, a technical specification document from Sacramento County's Community Services Agency, Department of Waste Management & Recycling, detailing requirements for procuring two-axle terminal truck tractors. The specifications cover a comprehensive set of technical requirements for a Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) diesel truck tractor, including detailed mandates for cab and chassis configurations, engine and transmission specifications, warranty terms, and performance expectations. The county requires proposers to demonstrate experience with at least 125 similar units that have been in service for a minimum of five years, and seek a terminal truck tractor with specific capabilities including a 42,000-pound GVWR, mechanical lift plate, and specific engineering and ergonomic features.
The technical specifications are highly detailed, covering everything from frame construction and axle requirements to cab layout, electrical systems, and warranty provisions. Key specifications include a Cummins Tier 4 Final engine producing 173 HP, an Allison six-speed automatic transmission, specific cooling and exhaust system requirements, and comprehensive warranty terms including one-year coverage for cab and chassis, and five-year coverage for the engine and transmission. The document provides a structured response format where potential vendors must indicate compliance with each specification, with options to note exceptions. The county reserves the right to approve various technical aspects, including transmission application, hydraulic connections, and cab ergonomics, emphasizing a collaborative and precise procurement process.
