About this file
This Addendum No. 1 document, issued by Columbia School District in Michigan, modifies and clarifies the original contract documents for the Phase 1 High School Athletic Fields ADA Sidewalks and Parking project at Columbia Central High School. The project scope includes construction of ADA-compliant sidewalks and parking areas at the baseball and softball fields. Key dates include the optional pre-bid meeting held on September 22, 2026, with electronic bid submission required via Building Connected by 2:00 p.m. on October 6, 2026. Post-bid interviews are scheduled for October 7-9, 2026, with subcontract award recommendation on October 12, 2026, and notice to proceed on October 13, 2026. Construction is scheduled to mobilize on October 19, 2026, with a completion timeline of October 19 through November 25, 2026, subject to Michigan State Plan Review approval and weather conditions. Two bid categories are identified: 01-31-01 Earthwork & Site Utilities and 01-32-01 Site Concrete, with bidders permitted to submit combined bids as voluntary alternates.
The addendum provides specific clarifications regarding mandatory alternates and scope responsibilities. Mandatory Alternate #2 involves removal and replacement of two existing concrete slabs at the baseball field located at the south end of the complex at the intersection of Cement City Road and Hewitt Road, with specifications calling for 6 inches of 4,000 psi concrete with 6x6 W2.9xW2.9 WWF reinforcement. The Earthwork & Site Utilities category is responsible for bleacher removal, slab demolition, and reinstallation, while the Site Concrete category is responsible for bolting existing bleachers to new slabs. Prevailing wage requirements and contractor registration with Michigan's Wage and Hour Division are mandatory for this state project. All personnel working on district property must complete Columbia School District security and background checks. Questions must be submitted electronically via Building Connected to Mackenzie Brock at 517-253-9352 or mbrock@grangerconstruction.com, with the Construction Manager identified as Granger Construction Company.
