About this file

This is an Addendum No. 8 issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, for Invitation to Bid No. RFB-45-26 concerning Lake Barkley Lodge Repairs and Renovations. The project encompasses four volumes: Volume A addresses structural repairs to guest wing buildings and walkways, Volume B covers demolition and construction of a new pool, Volume C includes accommodations and hospitality upgrades, and Volume D involves main building roof replacement. Addendum No. 8, dated September 5, 2025, modifies project timelines and specifications. The addendum extends the substantial completion time for Volume A by 60 calendar days and Volume B by 30 calendar days. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid forms and incorporate all modifications into their cost estimates.

The addendum contains three substantive items addressing technical specifications and design clarifications. Item 1 directs bidders to refer to a separate Lynn Imaging addendum for all additions, deletions, and changes to specifications and drawings. Items 2 and 3 modify completion schedules as noted above. Additionally, the document includes architect-issued clarifications, including responses to bidder questions regarding floor finish transitions in the dining room to ensure ADA compliance, and substitution of a discontinued window film specification with 3M Low E 70. Specification changes for roof snow guards include replacing "Slate" with "Asphalt" in Section 077253 and omitting a specific attachment detail. Snow guard specifications require pad-type, flat-mounted metal guards manufactured from ASTM B370 copper sheet with mechanical fastening systems per manufacturer recommendations.

# Question Response

Note 8 on sheet C-A121 states to extend the recessed slab to accommodate new tile work. Based on a site visit and observed conditions, the existing subfloor is wood so it could not be lowered, and all tile work appears to be built on a mortar bed and raised above the existing carpet (see attached photos). Instead of lowering the floors, should we be raising the other areas to accommodate the tile work so all floor finishes would be flush/even? If that is the case, please advise what products we are to use to raise the subfloor, how much we are to raise them and how we are to accommodate the existing HVAC floor registers, electrical outlets, ETC that are currently in the room.

Yes, please plan to raise or float floor for clean ADA compliant transition between tile and carpet for Dining Room. Floor finish / thickness is not changing at any HVAC floor registers or electrical outlet locations.

Our film supplier has informed us that the specified film for F1 in drawing set C was discontinued. Please advise.

Replacement product from 3M is Low E 70. Please use this in place of original specification.
