About this file
This Addendum No. 3 is issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, for Invitation to Bid (RFB) No. RFB-83-25 regarding the renovation of the Main Building Phase II at KCTCS-Ashland Community & Technical College in Ashland, Kentucky. The addendum, distributed on October 2, 2024, by alt32 Architecture, modifies the original bid specifications and drawings, establishing October 16, 2024, at 1:30 PM ET as the new bid opening date. The addendum comprises 15 pages of clarifications and revisions to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing specifications, including modifications to HVAC diffuser specifications across multiple sheets (M101-M105), changes to ductwork sizing and connections, updates to plumbing materials (Hubless cast iron for sheet P101 and CPVC for sheets P102-P103), and electrical modifications to panels and circuits. Additional revisions address stage lighting systems, overhead coiling doors, and casework, with manufacturer additions specified across multiple specification sections. The addendum includes work-related restrictions requiring the contractor to maintain two operational elevators throughout construction and restricting access to classrooms adjacent to the auditorium until December 15, 2024.
The addendum specifies that bidders must acknowledge receipt of all modifications in their proposal submissions. Key technical specifications include an overhead coiling door measuring 10 feet 0 inches wide by 11 feet 1 inch high, with detailed performance requirements for wind load resistance, air infiltration limits, and operational cycles. The document incorporates a comprehensive Registers, Grilles, Diffuser, and Louver Schedule detailing 11 diffuser models, two register models, and four louver models with corresponding specifications for air pattern, maximum CFM capacity, face/neck sizes, and noise criteria ratings. The specifications mandate compliance with multiple standards including ASTM testing protocols, NFPA codes, ADA accessibility requirements, and UL certifications. The addendum requires that all contractors coordinate with suppliers for connections and acknowledge the binding nature of these modifications upon contract issuance.
