About this file

This document is an Addendum No. 2 for Request for Bid (RFB-192-25) issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Department for Facilities and Support Services, specifically for Structural Repairs at Lake Cumberland State Park in Jamestown, Kentucky. The addendum, prepared by KPFF Consulting Engineers, provides clarifications to the construction drawings and specifications based on bidder questions and requests for information (RFIs). Key project details include structural repairs to double tees, grouting of existing voids, sidewalk replacements at specific cottages, and retaining wall replacements, with the addendum addressing measurement units, repair quantities, and finish specifications.

The addendum provides specific guidance on quantifying repairs, including assuming 12" length of repair on 16" deep double tees and establishing a 3 cubic yard baseline for grout quantity. Bidders are instructed to provide unit prices for double tee end repairs (per linear foot) and additional grout (per cubic yard). The document clarifies that new sidewalks will have a typical light broom finish, not an exposed aggregate finish, and new retaining walls will have a cast concrete finish without stone veneer matching. A detailed table of concrete repair requirements is included, outlining procedures for vertical and horizontal concrete repairs, including surface preparation, reinforcing steel treatment, and specific coating instructions.

ADDENDUM NO. 2

TO: ALL Bidders

FROM: KPFF Consulting Engineers

PROJECT: RFB-192-25 – CO Multi-Park Structural Investigation West – Lake Cumberland

This Addendum No. 2 makes the following clarifications to the Construction Drawings and Specifications, based on bidder questions and RFIs. In addition, please refer to the attached revised drawing sheets. All revised sheets supersede any previously submitted drawings.

Bidder Questions:

1. Note #2 on Sheet S101 – Cracked Ends of Double Tees This item appears to reference two different units of measurement. Could you please clarify whether this repair is to be quantified by location or linear feet (LF)? If it is to be measured by location, please provide the approximate dimensions of each repair. Additionally, would it be possible to establish a unit price for this item in case the number of repairs increases during construction?

a. Quantities are per location. Assume 12” length of repair on 16” deep double tees. Yes, please provide unit price (per LF) for DT end repairs.

2. Note #6 on Sheet S102 – Grouting of Existing Void The note specifies an approximate quantity of 3 CY of grout. Can you confirm that this is the assumed quantity to be included in the base bid? Furthermore, could a unit price be established for this item in the event the required quantity exceeds 3 CY?

a. Yes, 3 CY is the assumed quantity for bidding purposes. Yes, please provide unit price (per CY) for additional grout.

3. The Sidewalk Replacements at Cottages 510, 528-530. Will the existing exposed aggregate finish on the sidewalks be required to match?

a. No, new sidewalk will not include an exposed aggregate finish. Typical light broom finish.

4. The Retaining wall replacements – will the existing stone be required to match with a veneer on the cip wall noted in the drawings?

a. No, the new retaining wall will not need to match with a veneer. This will be a cast concrete finish.

5. There is not currently a spec section for concrete repair – please provide.
