About this file

This is an Addendum No. 1 issued by the City of Lafayette, Georgia, modifying the original Advertisement for Bids for the City of Lafayette 2026 Street Paving Project. The addendum extends the original bid submission deadline from April 13, 2026, to April 29, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. EST, with bids to be submitted to the Office of Mr. David Hamilton, City Manager, at 207 South Duke Street, Lafayette, Georgia 30728. The project encompasses paving work on multiple city streets including Pledger Street, Hillsdale Road, Johnson Street, Trail Lake Road, Anthony Street, South Duke Street, and Foster Boulevard. Work shall be performed during daylight hours only, with contractors required to coordinate operations to avoid disruption during school traffic hours. The project includes milling operations with depths varying from 0 to 3 inches based on existing asphalt conditions, 19mm binder base installation, and 9.5mm asphalt overlay consisting of a 0.5-inch leveling course and 1.5-inch topping course. Permanent pavement markings, including yellow and white striping, thermoplastic stop bars, and pedestrian crossing markings, are to be installed as part of the project. Estimated quantities are provided in the bid specification table, with binder base and topping tonnages ranging significantly by street.

The bid form has been revised to specify 9.5mm Type II asphalt at 1.5 inches (165 lbs/SY) for the topping course, correcting an earlier specification of 220 lbs/SY. Milled surfaces must be paved within five days of milling completion. The patching bid item and shoulder building/grassing requirements have been removed entirely. The City of Lafayette will perform all manhole and valve adjustments, with contractors required to coordinate these efforts. Portable advanced warning signs and tripod-mounted signage are permitted at the contractor's discretion, provided they comply with applicable safety standards. Driveway aprons must be paved as necessary to maintain accessibility. Turn lanes, side streets, and railroad crossing symbols are not included in the scope of work. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum in their bid submission.
