About this file

This is an Addendum document for a public works contract issued by Pueblo West Metropolitan District for Well No. 4 and Well No. 7 Pipe Replacement Project (Contract No. IFB-2023-W-005). The project involves replacing existing waterlines with approximately 2,400 linear feet of 4-inch C900 PVC waterline from Well #7 and 2,630 linear feet of 4-inch C900 PVC waterline from Well #4, utilizing both open trench and boring methods through right-of-way crossings. The base bid assumes primarily open trench construction, with additional bid alternates for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) sections. The work includes installing vaults, manholes, valves, tie-ins, submersible well pump replacements, erosion control, and earthwork to create a complete and functional water distribution system.

The contract includes multiple bid options, with the base bid and two alternates. The first alternate involves HDD boring for approximately 2,450 linear feet of 4-inch HDPE pipe for the Well #4 alignment, while the second alternate provides boring options for the Well #7 force main. The project timeline specifies a 90-calendar day completion period, with potential extensions for inclement weather. Liquidated damages are set at $250 per working day for missed deadlines. The addendum addresses various technical modifications, including removing disinfection testing requirements, clarifying working hours (typically Monday-Friday, 7am-4:30pm), and allowing flexibility in pipe material selection, such as permitting HDPE throughout the project where originally specified differently.
