About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to the bid documents for the E-911/YMCA Regional Retention Pond project issued by the City of Thomasville, Georgia on March 27, 2026. The project involves construction of a regional stormwater retention pond on Remington Avenue in front of the Butler-Mason YMCA adjacent to the E-911 building. The pond will include a concrete flow control structure with an orifice designed to reduce flooding at the Clanton Street and Margaret Street intersection and minimize impacts to Brileys Lake. Sealed bids are due by 10:00 AM local time on April 2, 2026, at the City Engineers Office, 411 W. Jackson St., Thomasville, GA 31792. Bidders must be licensed in Georgia and provide all materials, labor, equipment, and services necessary to complete the project. No bids may be withdrawn for 60 days after the scheduled closing time. The addendum addresses seven requests for information from prospective bidders and modifies the bid documents by replacing the Contract Bid Form and Plan Sheets 4-12 and 4-14 with updated versions dated March 27, 2026.
Key clarifications in the addendum include the following: concrete washout facilities, plan holding boxes, and portable toilets will be paid under Pay Item 151-1000 (Mobilization); sod quantities were reduced to install sod above the permanent pool elevation with an updated drawing on revised Sheet 4-14; communication cable relocation costs shall be included in the grading complete cost; pay items for inlet sediment trap construction and maintenance will be removed from the bid form as these items are no longer in the plans; CAD files will be provided only to the awarded contractor; the bid opening date cannot be extended due to project scheduling constraints; and unsuitable excavated materials may be disposed of at the Thomas County Landfill located at 88 Landfill Road, Thomasville, Georgia. Bids must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond equal to at least 10 percent of the bid amount, and the successful bidder will be required to submit Payment and Performance Bonds each for 100 percent of the contract amount.

ADDENDUM NO. 1
PROPOSAL, CONTRACT, BOND
AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR
E-911\YMCA REGIONAL RETENTION POND
CITY OF THOMASVILLE, GEORGIA
Bids received until 10:00 A.M., Local Time, April 2, 2026
ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF THIS ADDENDUM BY INSERTING ITS NUMBER IN THE
PROPOSAL; FAILURE TO DO SO MAY SUBJECT BONA FIDE BIDDER TO DISQUALIFICATION.
THIS ADDENDUM FORMS A PART OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS; IT MODIFIES THEM AS
FOLLOWS:
RFI Question:
1. Will the contractor be responsible for the concrete washout, plan holding box and portable toilet?
If so, how does this get paid for? These are shown on sheet 4-12 for the contractor to furnish and install. They will be paid for under Pay Item 151-1000, Mobilization.
2. Will you please verify the square yardage of the sod? I ran through the numbers and got something different. This sod quantity is correct, since it was reduced to install sod above the permanent pool elevation. A drawing will be shown in an addendum Sheet 4-14 to better illustrate.
3. Is the contractor responsible for lowering the communications cable? If so, how will this get paid for? See the NOTE on 3-07: The cost of relocating the communication cable shall be included in the grading complete cost.
4. In the bid form, there are pay items listed for “Construct and remove inlet sediment traps” and
“Maintenance of inlet sediment trap.” However, I was unable to locate any inlet sediment traps in the plans. Could you please point out where these are shown in the plans? The Rt replaced these, so these pay items will be removed in the bid form.
5. Is the CAD available for this project? The cad files are furnished to the contractor that’s awarded the project.
6. Is there any possibility to extend the bid date? Unfortunately, we are on a tight schedule to get this project completed, so we will need to stay with the current bid opening date.
7. Does the city have a location unsuitable soils can be carried to? On Sheet 3-02, it mentions that all excavated material can be hauled to the Thomas County Landfill at 88 Landfill Road
Thomasville Ga.
