About this file
This document is Addendum I for Request for Proposals (RFP) #25-29-LB for Cataloging and Metadata Services issued by Cumberland County Public Library in North Carolina. The addendum provides clarifying details about the procurement, including that the library seeks a vendor to create catalog records for an estimated 4,000-4,500 titles annually across its eight library locations. The contract is set to commence on July 1, 2025, with an initial one-year term and two potential renewal years. The library confirmed that materials purchasing is a separate contract, and they primarily use Baker & Taylor (89% of purchases), Ingram, Midwest Tape, and Amazon for acquiring materials.
The addendum outlines comprehensive insurance requirements for the successful vendor, including professional liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per loss, commercial general liability coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence, workers' compensation per North Carolina statutes, and business auto liability insurance of $1,000,000 per accident. The library's current cataloging workflow involves Baker & Taylor processing a large portion of book purchases with cataloging, labels, and mylar jackets, while all audiovisual materials and items from other vendors are currently processed in-house. The three to four workstations that will run the cataloging interface are located at the library's Headquarters Technical Services offices, indicating a centralized processing approach.
