Addendum Number 3
ITB #24-033 Path 400 Trail Extension (Sandy Springs City Limit to S. of Johnson Ferry Road) Fulton
County Pl No. 0015023)
COMPLETE THIS ADDENDUM, SIGN and SUBMIT with the ITB
RESPONSE DUE DATE: April 12, 2024 2:00 p.m.
To All Prospective Offerors: In reference to the ITB listed above, the following answers to questions, additions, deletions and changes are hereby incorporated into the ITB:
Number Question Answer
1. Please provide BFI for Bridge 1 (Segment 1)
Information provided through Addendum 2
2. (Segment 1) Bridge note on Drawing 35- 0004 indicates pilot holes with 5’ rock sockets only if driving criteria cannot be met. Bottom of rock socket is shown as equal to pile minimum tip (“Y”) elevation. Based on plan elevations, driving criteria to meet minimum tip would require conventional pile driving into 5’ of rock which is not feasible without excessive pile damage. Please confirm pilot holes should be mandatory at Bent “X” at 16,17,18,19,20 and 21, and increase the Pay Item Qty for Pilot Holes accordingly, since it appears to only quantify needs at Bent “X” 36,37 and 38.
The pilot hole note is there in case the contractor cannot drive the piles to the minimum tip due to field conditions. No revision to the quantities.
3. (Segment 1) Drawing 20-0001 Temporary Access for Bridge Construction indicates bridge access from the East side of drawing, but there are no details where this access comes from or if permissible off this sheet.
Please clarify.
The access is for Starlight Court and the contractor may use for access to the site.
4. (Segment 1) Drawing 35-0008 Section thru Slab indicates 4 Beams at 4’0” = 16’0”. Drawing 35-0016 for typical beam indicates beams are only 3’0” wide.
Please clarify number of beams and width
There are only 2-beams and they are 3’-0” wide. Sheet 35-0016 has been revised.
5. (Segment 1) Drawing 35-0016 indicates one (1) dowel hole in plan and section view and conflicts with Note 4 on same sheet indicating two (2) dowel holes per beam. Please clarify
There is only 1 hole per each side of the beam.
Note 4 has been revised.
6. (Segment 1) Drawing 35-0021 Bearing Pad Detail indicates one (1) dowel hole per pad which conflicts with Note 4 on Drawing 35-35-0016.
There is only 1 hole per each side of the beam.
Note 4 has been revised.
7. (Segment 1) Substructure drawings for Bents 1 thru 35 only show dowel holes 1’7” in from cap ends but no dowels for interior beams. Please clarify dowel locations needed and spacing dimensions.
There are no interior beams and the dowel holes should be placed as specified on the plans.
8. (Segment 1) Can other sections of the sound wall be taken down and replaced to gain access to the trail areas?
Contractor may coordinate with City of Sandy Springs after award for approval to remove soundwalls beyond those identified on the plans.
9. (Segment 3A) Bridge 2; Please provide BFI for Bridge 2
Information provided through Addendum 2
10. (Segment 3A) Bridge 2; Can the composite metal decking specified serve as satisfying the protection platform note requirement on Drawing 35-0034?
See section 510 of GDOT specifications.
11. (Segment 3A) Bridge 2: Please confirm that GDOT Std 9037 does not apply at Bridge 2 Abutments.
See note 8 on the End bent sheet. GDOT std 9037 is for drainage details.
12. (Segment 3A) Bridge 2; Please clarify means desired to satisfy Note 4 on Drawing 35-0033
The contractor shall not allow water to fall off the bridge and onto the roadway below. It must be channeled off the bridge.
13. (Segment 3A) At STA 333+50, it shows the path going under the existing Glenridge Connector bridge. There is existing slope paving and bridge supports in this area. Are we to disturb these items when building the path and Wall 15?
The slope paving shall be disturbed to install Wall 15. However, the contractor shall not disturb the existing foundation of the bridge.
Updates**:
Final Plan Segments are also updated with a revision date of 3/29/24.
