About this file

This is Addendum #2 to a Scope of Work issued by the Town of Holliston Conservation Department in Massachusetts for Conservation Land Trail Inventory and Evaluation Services. The addendum provides clarifications to questions submitted regarding the original scope dated September 3, 2026, as previously amended by Addendum #1 on September 11, 2026. The project involves comprehensive inventory and mapping of trails across town-owned or town-controlled conservation lands, with the Town estimating approximately 15 to 18 miles of mapped trails based on TrailForks data, though the final inventory is expected to identify additional unmapped informal trails through fieldwork. Deliverables include GIS geodatabase mapping compatible with ArcGIS and MassGIS standards in the specified projection format, with sensitive historic, cultural, wetland, and habitat locations delivered in a separate restricted staff layer excluded from the public-facing map. Written quotes and supporting documentation must be submitted by September 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM to SkrzypiecT@holliston.k12.ma.us.

The addendum clarifies several administrative requirements for bidders, including that out-of-state LLCs or corporations may submit a current certificate of good standing from their home jurisdiction with their quote, with Massachusetts foreign registration to be completed upon award prior to contract execution. Evidence of required insurance limits must be provided prior to contract execution rather than with the initial written quote. The Town does not impose additional ArcGIS geodatabase schema or MassGIS metadata requirements beyond those specified in Section 6 of the original Scope of Work. No pricing information, funding sources, or contract term details are specified in this addendum document.

ADDENDUM #2

CONSERVATION LAND TRAIL INVENTORY AND EVALUATION SERVICES

September 22, 2026

This Addendum provides responses to written questions received regarding the Scope of Work dated September 3, 2026, as previously amended by Addendum #1 dated September 11, 2026.

This Addendum does not otherwise modify the Scope of Work.

Question 1: Can the Town provide an approximate total trail mileage from the TrailForks or

AllTrails maps it currently uses, or an export/trail list for Town-owned or Town-controlled segments? (It is understood that fieldwork must also identify unmapped informal trails.)

Answer: For reference, here's a map of the general project area:

https://www.trailforks.com/polygons/554/. It was drawn to follow the Holliston town line, but it's just a rough sketch. As for mileage, the Town doesn't have an exact figure. Practice routes traced through TrailForks across the trail network in that area produced estimates ranging from approximately 15 to 18 miles, depending on the amount of backtracking needed to reach spur trails. This is a rough estimate, not a precise count, and does not include any unmapped informal trails, which fieldwork is expected to identify.

Question 2: Should sensitive historic, cultural, wetland, or habitat locations be delivered in a restricted staff layer separate from the public map?

Answer: Yes, sensitive historic, cultural, wetland, or habitat locations should be delivered in a separate, restricted layer, not included on the public-facing map. The Town will work with the selected consultant to finalize the details of that layer once mapping is underway.

Question 3: Does the Town have a preferred ArcGIS geodatabase schema or MassGIS metadata template beyond the projection and compatibility requirements in the scope?

Answer: No, the Town does not have an additional schema or metadata template beyond what is already specified in Section 6 of the Scope of Work.

Question 4: For an out-of-state LLC or corporation, will the Town accept a current certificate of good standing or legal existence from the entity's home jurisdiction with the quote, with

Massachusetts foreign registration completed if required prior to contract execution? Or does the https://www.trailforks.com/polygons/554/ quote itself need a Massachusetts Certificate of Registration or Legal Existence from the

Secretary of the Commonwealth, as Section 10 currently states?

Answer: Yes, an out-of-state LLC or corporation may submit a current certificate of good standing or legal existence from its home jurisdiction with the quote. Massachusetts foreign registration will need to be completed upon award, prior to signing the contract.

Question 5: Does the Town expect evidence of the stated insurance limits with the written quote, or only from the selected consultant prior to contract execution?

Answer: Evidence of the required insurance limits is needed prior to execution of the contract, not with the written quote itself.

As a reminder, Contractors are encouraged to provide written quotes and supporting documentation any time before September 30, 2026 by 4:00 PM. Please email quotes to:
