About this file
This is Addendum 2 to Invitation for Bid (IFB) Number 6000001986 issued by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) for American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter services. The contract is for statewide ASL interpretation services for the Board of Parole Hearings (BPH), requiring RID-certified interpreters to provide in-person interpretation from English to ASL and vice versa. Services are needed Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential extended hours, covering parole consideration hearings, medical parole, elderly parole, youth offenders, and mentally disordered offender hearings. The addendum modifies Item IV "Request for Services" in Exhibit A Scope of Work.
The payment structure is based on half-day sessions (4.5 consecutive hours) or full-day sessions (morning and afternoon combined), with additional compensation available in quarter-hour increments for extended sessions. One interpreter is required per panel, with separate rates applying per interpreter when multiple panels operate simultaneously. The contract includes provisions for cancellation fees if less than 24 hours notice is given. The contractor will serve as either primary or secondary provider for Northern, Central, or Southern regional locations, with BPH contacting the primary (lowest responsible bidder) first and only reaching out to the secondary provider if the primary is unavailable.
