About this file

This is an Addendum to RFP 047-26 issued by Shawnee County, Kansas for the procurement of one new 3/4-ton, 4-wheel drive pickup truck with an 8-foot utility bed for municipal field operations and public works projects. The addendum addresses a clarification question regarding the truck bed configuration, specifically regarding whether an 8-foot or 11-foot utility bed would be acceptable. The county confirmed that an 8-foot utility bed is acceptable for the project, resolving concerns raised by a potential bidder regarding chassis cab (CA) capacity limitations of the F250 platform relative to the original specifications.

The addendum confirms that the vehicle should be a new/unused 2027 model year with a gasoline engine, extended cab configuration, and 4-wheel drive capability. The utility bed specification of 8 feet aligns with the F250 chassis capacity and eliminates the need for bidders to propose alternative platforms such as the F450. This clarification ensures bidders can submit compliant proposals without requiring upgrades to heavier-duty truck platforms, thereby potentially reducing procurement costs while maintaining the county's operational requirements for the vehicle.
