About this file
This document is an Addendum #2 issued by the Dallas County Purchasing Department for Solicitation #2025-059-7084, which seeks food catering services for the Older Adult Nutrition Program. The solicitation aims to secure a new contract to replace the current one set to expire, with a target start date of January 2026. The contract will cover meal services for 19 different senior centers across Dallas, Garland, Richardson, and DeSoto, Texas. The addendum provides detailed responses to potential bidders' questions, clarifying key aspects of the procurement such as delivery requirements, meal preparation, and site-specific equipment availability.
The current contract, held by the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas, charges $4.34 per meal. The new contractor will be responsible for delivering meals to senior centers, maintaining proper meal temperatures, and adapting to varying serving methods at different locations. Most centers can receive meals as early as 9:00 AM, with a four-hour consumption window. The centers are equipped with basic hardware like tables, chairs, and handwashing stations, but lack cooking or warming equipment. Some locations have additional serving infrastructure such as stainless steel serving lines or countertop serving windows. The vendor must provide necessary warming units and propose a flexible serving method that can accommodate the diverse needs of each senior center.
