About this file

Summary

This is an Addendum 2 document issued by the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), FMO Design and Construction Section, State of Alaska, modifying the solicitation for the BAAF - 47427 Hangar 6 - Roof and Envelope Replacement Project (Project Number: 02A7026001) located at Bryant Airfield, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. The project scope includes removal of roofing, envelope, and siding; replacement of the roof membrane; sealing of all penetrations; and replacement of materials with new construction, utilizing dust control systems to prevent contamination of other building areas. The contractor must supply all labor, equipment, materials, disposal, cleanup, licenses, insurance, and travel expenses. The pre-bid walkthrough is scheduled for September 2, 2026, at 10:00am Alaska Time, with registration required a minimum of two days prior; contractors are limited to two individuals per company. The original project completion date has been changed from December 31, 2027, to September 30, 2027. The bid submission deadline is 1:00pm Alaska Time on September 15, 2026, with late bids rejected and no extensions permitted due to fiscal year constraints.

The addendum addresses four key questions and answers relevant to bidder inquiries. The hangar must maintain a minimum of 50 percent usability throughout construction. Base access requests require only the first and last names of individuals attending the walkthrough, with participants meeting directly at Hangar 6. Base passes will be issued at the Fort Richardson Visitor Center, where registered individuals' names will be placed on a 72-hour log; passes may be picked up beginning Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 8:00am. The contact for all project inquiries is Gavin M. Fairbanks, Building Management Specialist, at (907) 428-7187 or gavin.fairbanks@alaska.gov.
