About this file

This document is Addendum 1 for Bid #26-001, a Water Heater Replacement Project issued by WRVTHS (likely an acronym for a school or institutional organization). The addendum introduces two specific changes to the original bid document. The first change adds a "Use of Trade Names" section clarifying that proprietary or trade names are used for reference and do not restrict the bid to a specific manufacturer. The second change modifies the specifications for equipment installation, specifically removing the "(no substitution)" language for the AERCO Innovation 1060 water heater unit while maintaining the note that this unit is requested as an exact replacement to avoid relocating existing piping connections.

The addendum emphasizes that WRVTHS will be the sole judge of the fitness of any equivalent item for the project's intended purpose. Bidders are instructed to acknowledge this and any future addenda on the Bid Submission Form (Attachment A). The changes appear to provide more flexibility in equipment selection while maintaining the specific technical requirements of the original water heater replacement project.

Addendum 1

Please make the following two (2) changes to Bid #26-001: Water Heater Replacement

Project

Change #1: On page 8, beneath the paragraph headed Brand Name or Equal, please add the following heading and paragraph.

Use of Trade Names:

The use of a proprietary or trade name in any description of equipment, materials or supplies in this request for quotes is not intended to restrict this IFB to the manufacturer or proprietor;

instead, it is intended only to describe, by convenient reference to familiar products, the features or characteristics required by WRVTSH. Further, the use of any trademark in any description of equipment, materials or supplies does not constitute any endorsement of the product by

WRVTHS. Any item that is the equivalent, in style, quality dimensions and color, to the brand specified will be acceptable to WRVTHS. Items not marked on the cost quote form, as being equivalent shall be evaluated as being the item specified and be ordered as such if an award is made. WRVTHS will be the sole judge as to the fitness of any equivalent item for the purpose intended in this quote.

Change #2: On page 10, titled Specifications, under the heading, New Equipment Installation:

Please replace the following language:

• Furnish and install one new AERCO Innovation 1060 (no substitution) complete water heater unit.

o Note: Whittier is requesting this AERCO Innovation 1060 unit as an exact replacement to the current unit in order to avoid the necessity to relocate the current piping connections.

WITH:

• Furnish and install one new AERCO Innovation 1060 complete water heater unit.

Note: Please remember to acknowledge this and any future addenda number/s on the Bid

Submission Form (Attachment A).
