Addendum 1 McClave Drive Drainage Improvements June 14, 2024
Questions and responses.
1. How will testing be performed and will the owner be paying this under contingency? Third party testing (when needed) will be performed by others and will not be a contractor responsibility.
2. How will subgrade be handled if poor soil is encountered for headwall footing? It would need to be undercut and replaced with 57 stone. Line item has been adjusted.
3. Please confirm if stone bedding is required for RCP. Confirmed. Pipe needs to be bedded to the spring line.
4. Is the 57 Stone for bedding of the pipe? Yes. Pipe and headwall footing.
5. There appears to be no pay item for curb and gutter nor asphalt. With proposed alignment of
36” RCP this will force removal of curb and gutter and most likely 2-3 ft of travel lane. Can line items be added for these for clarity for all bidders? Curb and gutter has been added as a line item on the bid schedule. Asphalt has been added as a line item on the bid schedule. Granite curbing has also been added as a line item. Depending on pricing, the City may elect to install granite curbing.
6. There are trees that border the LOD at the headwall. For clarity can you call out trees that need to be removed as the root zones could be impacted to get proper safe excavation for working area. Removal of trees that are 6” or greater in diameter has been added to bid schedule.
