About this file

This document is an Addendum #1 related to a raw water intake improvement project for the Cherokee County Water & Sewerage Authority in Cherokee County, Georgia. The project aims to replace and relocate the Riverbend Etowah River Intake further into the center of the river where velocities are higher, allowing for "self-scouring" to reduce clogging. The work includes extension of the existing raw water intake pipe, installation of screens in the Etowah River, associated structural work, riverbank stabilization, stormwater drainage, and site restoration. The bid due date is Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. local time. A mandatory site visit will be held immediately following the pre-bid meeting on September 12, 2024. The project has a specified substantial completion date of 250 calendar days.

The bid includes a lump sum work item, a cash allowance item, and various unit price work items such as additional mill and resurface, additional asphalt, additional rip rap, additional SELs, and rock excavation. The project is not subject to Davis-Bacon Wages, AIS, or BABAA requirements. The intake is expected to remain operational during construction, so a shutdown sequence and coordination with the Owner will be required. Soil boring information is provided for contractor reference but not to be relied upon solely.
