About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 for a Request for Quotation (RFQ-5600-25-KN) issued by the City of Grand Junction Purchasing Division in Colorado for chlorine supply. The addendum provides clarifications about a solicitation for Sodium Hypochlorite 12.5% Solution to be delivered to the City's Lincoln Park Pool. The City plans to purchase chlorine in batches of 1000-1500 gallons every two weeks, with a total historical purchase volume of 9,800 gallons from May through August 2024. The vendor will be required to pump the chlorine directly into the City's 1,500-gallon tank upon delivery.
The addendum reveals that West Elk Supply was the previous supplier, though this is the first formal solicitation process for the chlorine purchase. The City indicates that interested vendors can submit pricing and that specific incumbent pricing can be obtained through an open records request. Delivery will be recurring, with batches expected approximately every two weeks. The solicitation seeks a supplier capable of delivering Sodium Hypochlorite 12.5% Solution in bulk, with the City having specific receiving capabilities that require direct tank pumping. No additional product specifications beyond the 12.5% solution concentration were noted in the document.

Purchasing Division
ADDENDUM NO. 1
DATE: February 3, 2025 FROM: City of Grand Junction Purchasing Division TO: All Offerors RE: Chlorine RFQ-5600-25-KN
Offerors responding to the above referenced solicitation are hereby instructed that the requirements have been clarified, modified, superseded and supplemented as to this date as hereinafter described.
Please make note of the following clarifications:
1. Q: Can you tell me who the incumbent supplier is at what the incumbent pricing is?
A: Last year the City ordered from West Elk Supply. Due to the City’s purchasing approval levels, this product was not purchased using a solicitation process. This solicitation is the first formal solicitation process. If you would like information about the incumbent’s pricing, you will need to submit an open records request. The following link will take you to the City Clerk’s Public Records web page where you will find Open Records Request Form (https://cityofgrandjunctionco.nextrequest.com/).
2. Q: Can you please also provide an order volume history with dates?
A: Last year, the City ordered multiple times a month from 5/13/24 through 8/20/24. The total amount of gallons purchased was 9,800.
Date (based on past invoices) Quantity Ordered 05/13/2024 640 05/13/2024 640 05/28/2024 640 06/03/2024 640 06/07/2024 640 06/12/2024 320 06/14/2024 640 06/21/2024 640 06/24/2024 640 07/01/2024 640 07/10/2024 640 07/15/2024 640 07/26/2024 640 08/01/2024 520 08/09/2024 640 08/20/2024 640 https://cityofgrandjunctionco.nextrequest.com/
3. Q: Besides Sodium Hypochlorite 12.5% Solution, are there any other specifications for this product?
A: This is the only specification for this product at this time.
4. Q: After awarding the contract, is it going to be a once off delivery or in batches?
A: It will be in batches, about every two weeks of 1000-1500 gallons minimum at a time.
5. Q: How do you want it packed ie in 1 gallon containers, 5 gallon container or …
A: The City has a 1500 gallon tank that the vendor will need to pump it into when they deliver. The City can’t / won’t handle it until it is in our tank.
The original solicitation for the project noted above is amended as noted.
All other conditions of subject remain the same.
Respectfully, Kassy Nelson, Buyer City of Grand Junction, Colorado
