Questions and Answers:
If awarded the contract it will be in force for 3 years, do we have an option for a rate increase year over year if needed? (No price increases for at least for the first 3 years, then we would have to approve any price increases at that point. See RFP 1.1 Contract Term: This contract shall be binding on both parties for a three (3) year period beginning on the date of contract award. The University shall have the option of auto renewing the contract for seven (7) additional one (1) year terms. The total term of this contract, including all renewals, shall not exceed ten (10) years.)
On the billing, Are we supposed to measure the square footage of the painted surfaces? I was confused about billing by the gallon of paint using 450sqft of coverage? (The average is 300-350 sqft of one gallon of paint. Any clarification would be appreciated. We will be basing it on 435 Per gallon because we are recoating with the same color. We know we can get 450 out of a gallon but we will pay 435 a gallon. We use Sherwin
Williams ProMar 200 semi gloss which says it can do 350-400 per gallon. Again, because we are just recoating we get more out of a gallon.)
If we send invoices every two weeks, what are the terms on payment? (All invoices are paid net 30 upon receipt of invoice) mailto:brownlg2@appstate.edu
On the doors and trim paint oil base or latex? (We use both paints on doors. The doors that use latex will be included in the square foot price. The doors that we paint with oil will be by the hour.)
On drywall repairs – Are there asbestos surveys on file for all 18 buildings? (We do not have asbestos studies on the drywall. We want you to use a Hepe Vac to handle all drywall dust. Most of the repairs on this contract will be new patching with new drywall mud. I have a separate drywall contract that does the major repairs. Question)
If asked to do other work, what will the change order process look like?
(Brandon keeps up every day with all work being done and totals. We will communicate on work and totals per invoice period.)
We do have background checks on file for all our employees, but we typically will not release any personal information on our employees, Are we just supplying a list of employees/subcontractors with a date of background check? (Background check information is listed in the RFP under section 4.7- 4.7.5)
What is the cost of the parking passes? Monthly/Annually? (Purchase a contractor/vendor parking permit for the cost of $372.00 per year or $31 per month).
