About this file
This document is an Addendum to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Town of Smithfield, Virginia for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Services. The RFP seeks proposals from qualified contractors to provide these services as described. The addendum provides responses to several questions raised by potential bidders, including details on pipe sizes, manhole inspections, pricing structures, cooperative procurement language, and the scope of the contract. It clarifies that this RFP is intended for contractors, not engineering consultants, and that the contract will be based on HRPDC and the Town's design standards. The addendum also indicates that a bid sheet will be provided for bidders to submit per-item pricing, and that quantities will be based on the Town's budgeted funding.
The pricing structure for this contract will likely be a combination of per-item, lump sum, linear feet, and vertical feet, depending on the specific services required. The contract will allow for cooperative procurement, enabling other public agencies in Virginia to utilize the resulting contract. No specific set-asides or incumbent contractors are mentioned, and the funding source is the Town of Smithfield's budget, the amount of which will determine the quantities of work.
