About this file

This is an Addendum 1 – Q&A document for the Rogers Bridge Park Trailhead Phase 1 project issued by the City of Duluth, Georgia on November 30, 2021. The project consists of demolition of the existing building and structures, construction of a new building, sidewalks, cul-de-sac, utility connections, stormwater management features, and other site improvements. Sealed proposals were due by 4:00 p.m. on December 14, 2021. The project requires coordination with adjacent Rogers Bridge construction and must open concurrently with substantial completion of the new bridge or within 30 days thereafter. Construction plans are available on the City's website at no charge.

The addendum addresses three pre-bid questions from prospective bidders. An asbestos survey was underway at the time of the addendum and would be provided to the winning bidder; bidders were instructed to assume no asbestos remediation was required for bid purposes. Two questions addressed the contractor's substitution policy, confirming that substitutions for specified products—including Key Resin equivalent to Stontec TRF and W.R. Meadows PERMINATOR or PERMINATOR EVOH vapor barrier membranes—would be considered after project award if submitted by the winning contractor in accordance with project specifications. Bidders were directed to base their proposals on the information provided in the plans and specifications as written.

Is an asbestos survey available for the existing building?

AnswerQuestion

I have three installers that would like to quote the Key Resin equivalent to the Stontec TRF. In the past, your firm said a substitution request would be considered after the bid date if submitted by the winning GC. Has this policy changed?

Currently, specs for the project calls for several VAPOR BARRIER membranes. Would W.R. Meadows PERMINATOR OR PERMINATOR EVOH

(SYSTEM INCLUDING ALL REQUIRED ACCESSORIES) please be considered and added as approved alternate materials?
