About this file

This is an Addendum No. 1 to Request for Proposals (RFP) No. ED-25-593 issued by the City of Long Beach's Department of Financial Management for a Lifeguard Tower Advertisement Program. The addendum provides clarifications to proposers regarding the advertising opportunity on lifeguard towers located along Long Beach's coastline and beach areas. An estimated 25 lifeguard towers will be available for advertising year-round. The City indicated that a map of tower locations is not currently available but confirmed that towers are positioned along the coastline and other beach areas. Access for vehicles on the beach to perform advertising copy installations and removals will be coordinated through the City's Fire Department Marine Safety Division and Economic Development Department. The addendum requires all proposers to acknowledge receipt by signing and submitting the document with their proposals, with failure to do so resulting in potential disqualification.

The addendum addresses five key questions raised by prospective bidders. The City estimated that it receives 6 million visitors annually but indicated that specific beach visitor data and monthly breakdowns are not available at this time. Regarding whether the project constitutes a Public Works project despite the City not funding it with public funds, the City stated the answer is currently unknown, with the Economic Development Department to investigate further. The document emphasizes that proposers must rely only on official written communications from the City Contact, as the City will not be bound by any oral communications or information obtained outside the official communication process outlined in Section 5.2.27 of the RFP.
