ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO SPECIFICATION NO. R-7253: PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING ROOF PROJECT
This document is Addendum No. 1 issued by the City of Long Beach, Department of Public Works, Project Management Bureau, dated April 15, 2025, modifying the original specifications for the Public Safety Building Roof Project (Specification No. R-7253). The addendum provides clarifications and changes to the original contract documents and requires bidders to acknowledge receipt by signing and submitting the addendum with their proposals; failure to submit this acknowledgment may result in disqualification. Key modifications include the addition of photographs depicting areas requiring treatment prior to installation of the Fluid Applied Membrane system, identification of additional locations where Simple Seal product or approved equal must be installed, and a change in roof access routing to the East stairwell. The addendum also references a Labor Rate Change 2025-1 and notes that a revised PowerPoint presentation was uploaded to the LongBeachBuys platform on Friday, April 10, 2025.
Prospective bidders are directed to submit all communications regarding the project to John Taylor and Jennifer Magajes at the City of Long Beach Department of Public Works, Office of the City Engineer, Bureau of Engineering, located at 411 W. Ocean Boulevard, 5th Floor, Long Beach, California 90802, with contact available via email at jtaylor@hwlochner.com and Jennifer.Magajes@longbeach.gov. The photographs included in the addendum illustrate specific roof conditions requiring attention, including parapet coping joint sealing, ductwork that requires sealing and protection, ponding water removal and surface drying requirements, chiller corner areas requiring treatment, and moisture conditions beneath equipment installations that must be addressed prior to application of the Fluid Applied System. The City disclaims responsibility for oral interpretations of contract documents made by City employees and does not guarantee accurate transcription of oral questions.
