About this file
This is an Addendum #1 for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) North Region Office Roof and Dormer Window Replacement project located at 1088 M-32 East in Gaylord, Michigan. The project involves replacing the roof shingles, dormer windows, and associated drywall, with work to be completed on a lump sum basis. The addendum, issued on October 15, 2025, provides clarifications about the project, including that replacement shingles do not need to be one-for-one replacements and must be specified in section 07311 2.02 or an approved equal. A 2-year watertight workmanship warranty is required, and all old flashing must be removed and replaced to ensure a watertight system.
The bid includes an allowance amount of $15,000.00 and provides a schedule for potential additional work, such as replacing 4x8 plywood for damaged roof sheeting and removing and replacing water-damaged drywall. The project documents include a meeting attendance record from October 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with representatives from various construction and roofing companies present. The bid schedule allows for unit pricing and contingent change order prices, with the owner reserving the right to negotiate these prices before incorporating them into the final contract documents.
