About this file

This is an addendum issued by Wilson Architecture for the Mapleton School District's Middle School Asbestos Abatement project. The addendum modifies project documents and confirms that a mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on December 17, 2024, with additional site walk-through opportunities scheduled for January 7 and 9, 2025 from 1:00-3:00 PM. Bids are due January 14, 2025. The project includes modifications to Zone A and C work areas and updates specifications regarding radiator covers, flooring removal, and negative pressure enclosure requirements. The addendum includes a comprehensive site diagram detailing priority zones A through D with square footage measurements ranging from 65 sf to 1,880 sf.

The project will be bid with a base scope covering Priority Areas A+B+C+D plus above ceiling and attic level work, along with three alternates: Alternate 1 for Priority Area A, Alternate 2 for Priority Areas A+B, and Alternate 3 for Priority Areas A+B+C. Ten registered prime bidders are documented in the pre-bid meeting sign-in sheets, including companies such as 3 Kings Environmental, Alpha Environmental, and LOI Environmental Demolition. The addendum clarifies that Mapleton School District will handle removal of non-permanent content and radiator covers, while the contractor is responsible for removing and reinstalling ceiling tiles and removing wall base materials.

1.3. The bids are due on the date identified when the bid documents were issued, which is

1/14/2025.

2. Response to Bidders Questions

2.1. MSD will remove non-permanent content in the work areas that impact access to the abatement work, including furniture, file cabinets, bookshelves, and office equipment. The abatement contractor will need to remove permanent building elements to access the abatement work, including removable ceiling tiles (to be reinstalled by the contractor) and wall base material. The wall base does not need to be salvaged for reinstallation.

2.2. MSD will remove the radiator covers that extend to the floor. The abatement contract will be required to remove flooring below the radiator frame that will remain in place.
