About this file

This document is an Addendum to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) for Call-When-Needed Single Engine Air Tankers services. The ITB seeks to obtain competitive bids for these services, which will have an initial term of 120 days, with the potential for three one-year renewals. The 120-day period is guaranteed and is anticipated to take place from March 27, 2023, through July 31, 2023. FDACS intends to make a single award, or no award, as determined to be in the best interest of the state.

The ITB provides details on mobilization and demobilization payments, as well as clarification that only one vendor will be awarded the contract. FDACS is seeking a single contractor to perform the call-when-needed services, and this Addendum addresses various questions received regarding the ITB.

Question / Answer

1. Will mobilization/demobilization be paid under the contract?

Yes, once called the contractor/vendor will be paid to mobilized (from home station) to a pre-determined location set by the Florida Forest Service. The vendor/contractor will be paid to demobilize (back to home station) as well.

2. What time of year will the 120 days take place? Are the 120 days guaranteed or what is the estimated average usage?

The anticipated timeline is March 27, 2023 through July 31, 2023. The 120 days are guaranteed.

3. Will only one vendor be awarded?

The Department intends to make a single award or to make no award, as determined to be in the best interest of the state.

The Florida Forest Service currently only want one vendor/contactor to perform the call-when-needed.

4. How many years is the contract for?

The anticipated initial term is estimated of 120 days from issuance of the purchase order. This ITB may be eligible for three (3), one-year renewals contingent upon satisfactory performance of the Contractor and the mutual agreement of the parties.
