About this file
Addendum No. 1 - Brownsville & Caledonia Native Prairie Bank Woody Removal
This is an addendum to the specifications for a competitive sealed bid solicitation (RFB 2026-620) issued by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for woody removal and prairie habitat restoration services at two Native Prairie Bank sites in Houston County. The project encompasses approximately 2.4 acres at the Brownsville Native Prairie Bank and approximately 4.5 acres at the Caledonia Native Prairie Bank, requiring contractors to provide all labor, equipment, materials, tools, herbicide, transportation, and incidentals necessary to remove trees and woody vegetation not characteristic to the prairie ecosystem. Bidders must submit responses electronically through the Swift Portal by the original deadline of February 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with the original posting date of February 10, 2026. The addendum specifies that failure to respond to the latest event version may result in bid rejection. The State reserves the right to award items separately, by grouping, or by total, whichever is deemed most advantageous, and will award the contract to the lowest responsible vendor meeting all specifications and terms and conditions.
This addendum modifies Exhibit E - Project Specifications by including georeferenced maps and providing clarification regarding pile burning requirements for both bid groups. The addendum permits contractors to leave brush piles unburned if conditions are not suitable for safe burning (such as insufficient snow on the ground), provided the project supervisor concurs; however, material must still be consolidated into piles regardless of burning status. Unit pricing must include all associated costs such as labor, materials, tools, transportation, equipment, and applicable sales and use taxes. The addendum was prepared by Nick Partington, Project Manager, and approved by Kathy Alfred, the Delegated Buyer, on February 11, 2026.
