About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to Invitation to Bid No. RFB-32-27 issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services, Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, in conjunction with the Department of Military Affairs for exterior repair work at the Danville Readiness Center in Danville, Kentucky. The addendum, dated July 21, 2026, clarifies and modifies the original bid documents issued June 25, 2026, and becomes binding upon the contract to be issued. The project scope involves masonry repairs and related exterior work at the facility. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid forms, with failure to do so potentially resulting in disqualification. The architect of record is Kesler Simpson Architects, LLC located in Lexington, Kentucky.

Addendum No. 1 provides two primary clarifications to the original specifications. General Note D has been clarified to require contractors to protect in place, provide temporary support, or remove and reinstall all existing appurtenances including conduit, supports, light fixtures, cameras, louvers, exhaust fans, vents, and other existing items as necessary to perform masonry repairs. All associated labor, equipment, materials, coordination, and incidental costs must be included in the bid with no additional compensation provided. Where electrical equipment or systems require removal or disconnection, work must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable codes, with all equipment reinstalled and returned to original operating condition upon completion. General Note F has been clarified to include all existing wall penetrations within the project scope, requiring removal and replacement of sealant at all disturbed wall penetrations and at all lintels where masonry repairs occur to restore the existing weather-tight condition.

A. Clarification – General Note D

General Note D requires the Contractor to protect in place, provide temporary support, or remove and reinstall existing conduit, supports, light fixtures, cameras, louvers, exhaust fans, vents, and any other existing appurtenances as necessary to perform the masonry repair work. All labor, equipment, materials, coordination, and incidental costs associated with these activities shall be included in the Contractor's Bid. Remove and replace sealant at all wall penetrations disturbed by the Work, including, but not limited to, conduit, supports, light fixtures, cameras, louvers, exhaust fans, vents, windows, and other existing appurtenances where existing sealant is removed or disturbed.
