About this file

This is Addendum 1 to a Request for Bids issued by the City of Madison Finance Department Purchasing Services for a Tree Inventory Survey project (RFB 4930-0-2020-BG). The addendum clarifies specifications and requirements for bidders responding to the tree inventory survey. The project requires comprehensive tree inventory work across multiple Madison parks, including Orton Park (1103 Spaight Street, Madison, WI, 3.58 acres), Acer, Walnut Grove, and Thousand Oaks. Bidders must complete physical tree tagging with TAG IDs corresponding to inventory records and must use GPS equipment with differential correction capabilities. Park boundaries will be determined using GPS measurements and city parcel data available through the City's Data portal, rather than surveyor staking. Condition ratings are required for all trees except for specified aggressive species (box elder, buckthorn, slippery elm, basswood, cottonwood, and others) in wooded areas only.

GPS coordinate submissions must utilize Dane County Coordinates (WISCRS-Dane Zone) with NAD 83 Datum and U.S. Survey foot units, or bidders must document alternative coordinate systems, datums, and units along with raw GPS files (XML or HTML formats) directly exported from equipment showing all measurements and estimated accuracies. Form A and Form B must be completed on City-provided forms and accompanied by acknowledgment of Addendum 1 receipt on the RFP Form B and Submittal Checklist. An accompanying map of Orton Park delineates the park boundaries and location. Questions regarding the specifications should be directed to Brittany Garcia, City of Madison Purchasing Services, at (608) 243-0529 or bgarcia@cityofmadison.com.
