About this file
This is Addendum 1 to IFB EADM90424 from the California State Controller's Office (SCO) for Office Furniture Moving Services including Modular Systems Furniture Assembly and Disassembly Services for LA County. The addendum adds mandatory qualifications requiring bidders to have either a California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) License or California Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Household Goods and Services Household Mover Permit. Services will be provided at two locations: 888 South Figueroa St., Los Angeles and 901 Corporate Center Dr., Monterey Park. The scope includes moving services, modular/bolting services, disposal services using a 26-foot box truck, and storage services in secure locations. The contract term is three years with service frequency ranging from zero to multiple days/weeks per month.
The estimated budget amount is up to $100,000. This is a new agreement for LA County with no incumbent contractor. The pricing structure includes regular time rates (8 hours in a 24-hour period), overtime rates (over 8 hours), and double overtime rates (over 12 hours) for various staffing configurations including 2 workers and truck, 1 worker and truck, and extra workers. Disposal charges will be quoted on a per-ton basis rather than per truckload. Storage will be charged at a per-vault rate for modular furniture, file boxes and free-standing furniture. Additional incidental items like computer carts, file carts, moving supplies and storage are priced separately with a 10.25% Los Angeles County sales tax applied.
