About this file

This document is Addendum 1 for the Design RFP for the Wiggins Building New Baseball Facility project in Bulloch County, Georgia. The addendum addresses several questions from potential bidders, including whether a Phase 1 environmental study has been performed and whether project examples outside of baseball facilities can be submitted as part of the Statement of Qualifications. The addendum clarifies that the design team will not need to provide detailed cost estimates, as that responsibility will fall to the Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) when they are brought on board. The RFP submission deadline has been extended to April 1, 2024, while all other dates remain unchanged.

The Wiggins Building New Baseball Facility Design project involves the design of a new baseball facility in Bulloch County, Georgia. The project is being procured using the CMaR delivery method. No further details on pricing, set-asides, funding sources, or other salient information are provided in the addendum.

Addendum One 0510-24055A Wiggins Building New Baseball Facility Design RFP

Question: Has a study (or Phase I analysis) been performed for this project? And if so, will a copy of the study be posted?

Answer: A Phase 1 ESA will be performed but has not been completed yet. A copy of the study will be available once complete.

Question: For the 'Statement of Qualifications Deliverables', under section B4a, it notes specifically 'Baseball Complex'. While we do have this experience, we have numerous other examples of stadiums and arenas within all athletics. We want to showcase the strongest team for this pursuit and their multi-faceted sports facility talents range within and beyond baseball. If we were to submit, could we use project examples of other athletics outside baseball to fill the requirements of B4a in favor of including the best team for the project?

Answer: B4A references relevant projects. Relevant, in this case, would be a baseball complex or another similar sports complex. An example of a project that would NOT be considered relevant would be a middle/high school with the addition of a baseball field. Submitters should include projects that they feel best fit this description.

Question: The RFP lists "detailed cost estimates" as part of the design professional services but is also using the CMaR delivery method. In our experience the CMaR typically is responsible for cost evaluations. Could you provide clarity if the design team needs to carry this cost or clarify when the CM is anticipated to be brought on board?

Answer: We will not need the DP to provide detailed cost estimates.

Deadline for submission of RFP date has been extended to 4/1/2024. All other dates remain unchanged.
