About this file
This document is an Addendum to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the Classic Center Authority (CCA) for the provision of basketball flooring, installation, and related services for the Classic Center Arena project in Athens, Georgia. The RFP deadline has been extended to April 25, 2024, and the CCA has provided clarifications to questions received regarding acceptable floor dimensions, brands, and basketball equipment. The original RFP sought proposals from firms specializing in basketball flooring and related services for the new arena facility, which is being funded in part by a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) approved by voters in 2019.
The RFP does not specify pricing terms, set-asides, or funding amounts. However, it indicates that the CCA is open to alternative proposals and brands that meet the industry standards for venues of this type. The CCA reserves the ability to request best and final proposals from one or more firms prior to a potential contract award.

ADDENDUM NUMBER ONE
(Addendum to RFP)
CCA RFQP# ARENA1- BSKBLFLOOR-1
BASKETBALL FLOORING
The Classic Center Arena
Athens, Georgia
Date: April 15, 2024
From: Richard Sawyer, CCA Project Procurement Director
To: Potential Respondents
This Addendum forms a part of the Request for Proposals and modifies the RFP as described below. Official changes and clarifications are underlined. This Addendum consists of two (2) pages.
A. The CCA is EXTENDING the Proposal deadline to April 25, 2024, 2:00 PM. All other RFP submittal instructions apply.
B. The CCA IS PROVIDING ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS and REQUESTS FOR CLARIFICATIONS RECEIVED (CCA Official Answers are underlined, below):
1. Can we provide proposals on one of our floors or a used floor of a different manufacturer other than Connor? We are open to any comparable brands that are equivalent.
2. The spec calls for a 64' x 112' floor. Most floors in the States are 60 x 112 or 60 x
120. How set are you all on the 64' width? – Please just specify your proposed dimensions, we will accept equipment that conforms to the industry accepted standards for venues like ours.
3. Looks like there is basketball equipment as part of the deal. Is there a brand requirement? What size boom are you looking for...8' or 10' – Open to alternative proposals on goal equipment, not required for this proposal, however. 10’ boom is preferred.
