About this file

This is Addendum 1 to RFP #388-21 for Design-Build Services for the Dawson County Etowah River Park Canoe Launch, issued by Dawson County, Georgia on August 10, 2021. The project involves designing and building a canoe launch facility at the Etowah River Park, with the primary scope including the replacement of existing steps with a new ramp that ends at the same elevation and location as the current stairs. A mandatory pre-proposal conference was scheduled for August 2, 2021, at the Etowah River Park. The IFB closing date was August 19, 2021, at 10:30 AM EST, with addendum submissions due by August 11, 2021. The County intends for this to be a fall project and has indicated that river access may be closed completely to the public during construction, with the contractor required to detail the timeframe in the construction schedule.

Dawson County has not established a set budget for this project and is open to cost-saving designs that meet all required scope, laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations. The Design/Build bidder will not be responsible for the cost of acquiring additional land for the proposed solution. An engineered Erosion and Sedimentation Plan is required to be submitted with the variance application to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division, as the foundation of the steps will be replaced within the buffer zone. The County provided tax boundary information and a canoe put-in plat and directed bidders to streamstats.usgs.gov for river flow rate and elevation change data, as this information is not available on file. All other dates, specifications, terms, and conditions remain as posted in the original IFB document.
