About this file
This is Addendum #1 to a Georgia state and local contract opportunity for the purchase and installation of rapid mixer and flocculator gearboxes at the Shoal Creek Filter Plant. The primary scope involves procuring replacement gearboxes, motors, couplings, and mounting bases for two rapid mixers and nine flocculators. The equipment will be supplied by the contractor, with installation and electrical/control connections to be handled by others under a separate contract. The addendum modifies the original solicitation terms, conditions, or technical specifications related to this equipment procurement.
The addendum does not specify pricing terms, set-aside provisions, incumbent contractors, or detailed funding information in the provided excerpt. Additional details regarding bid submission deadlines, award timelines, contract duration, and renewal options would be contained within the complete addendum document and original solicitation materials.

PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF RAPID MIXER AND FLOCCULATOR GEARBOX AND MOTOR
REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT
ADDENDUM #1
Q1) Are any bonds required? I do not see any bond related forms in the invitation to bid document, so I interpret that to mean they are not required, but I wanted to make sure.
A1) Bonds are not required.
Q2) Are the dimensions of the rigid couplings shown on pages 88 and 97 available? If they are not available during the bid, can these dimensions be made available after award or during the manufacturing process? Alternately, if either side of the couplings are made available after award, but prior to installation, we can take the necessary measurements.
A2) Dimension of rigid coupling not readily available. Side couplings can be removed, and measurements are to taken by Contractor after award.
Q3) Instead of putting together new anchor bolt designs and calculations, can the anchor requirements be waived if the units come with a mounting plate that meets the existing plate bolt pattern and outside dimensions?
A3) Use of the existing anchor bolts is not acceptable. New anchor bolts are required to be installed in different locations from the existing anchor bolts.
Q4) As part of question 3 above, can the plate be manufactured in painted mild steel instead of 316SS or Aluminum as done on the original mixer? We can manufacture the plate out of 316SS if desired, but it will be a much higher price. 1.01.E in section 44 45 19.01 referenced supports to be fabricated from either Aluminum or 316SS. The gearbox and pedestal materials are defined in 1.03.A.8 of the same section, so we thought this support might be referring to the mounting plate.
A4) The supports referred to in 1.01.E in section 44 45 19.01 are any additional supports required to support equipment/motors or appurtenances/ancillaries other than the main gearbox support and mounting plate.
Q5) If we meet 1.06.A.1 in 44 45 19.01, do we also need to meet 1.06.A.3 in that section? Our interpretation is that the standard color of the system used in 1.06.A.1 (which is typically blue) is acceptable, but I wanted to make sure it does not need to be gray.
Addendum #1
BL119-22
A5) In addition to Section 1.06.A.1 or 1.06.A.2 in 44 45 19.01, the color in Section 1.06.A.3 is required to match existing equipment. A final topcoat of UV resistant polyurethane coating may be applied in accordance with the coating manufacturers recommendations over the manufacturers standard color to achieve the specified color.
Q6) QI also have a couple questions regarding who fills out the forms and the following is background before I ask my question: Carl Eric Johnson Company (CEJCO) is bidding Chemineer mixers that are manufactured by National Oilwell Varco, LP and Carl Eric Johnson will perform the field service work as we are the manufacturer’s representative. National Oilwell Varco would ask that any resulting purchase order be written out to them. As part of this, I plan to complete the bid schedule, listing the Legal business name as National Oilwell Varco, LP, but I plan to list the company name as National Oilwell Varco, LP c/o Carl Eric Johnson.
A6) The bid, including E-Verify and Ethics Affidavits, must be filled out by the company that will get receive payment/ PO. If there is a sub, the awarded supplier can get an affidavit from that ‘sub’, but Gwinnett County doesn’t need that.
Q7) Since I am the representative putting together the bid, would I be correct to assume I should complete the Code of Ethics with the company name listed as Carl Eric Johnson?
A7) note A6 above.
Q8) Since the field service will be quoted as being performed by my company as the representative and since the contractor affidavit and agreement is only required if field service work over $2,499.99 in value is performed, could you still place a resulting purchase order with National Oilwell Varco, LP if Carl Eric Johnson Company is the one to complete the contractor affidavit and agreement form?
A8) note A6 above.
This addendum should be acknowledged on Bid Form, page 6. Failure to do so may result in your proposal being deemed non-responsive.
