About this file
This is Addendum #1 to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Switchgear for IP Power Plant 4, issued by an unspecified government entity on March 31, 2022, for RFP #22-049-G. The addendum clarifies that the ITB encompasses procurement of both switchgear and Non-Segregated Phase Bus Duct, with specifications detailed in sections 26 05 08, 26 13 19, and 10 66 10. The scope includes onsite unloading and manufacturer onsite installation checks/certification but excludes onsite commissioning services. Installation will be contracted separately in fall 2022. The equipment must accommodate specific dimensional requirements (83"h x 95"w double-door opening) and operational specifications, including the ability to be leaned during positioning. The addendum confirms field-verified dimensions and permits relocation of certain devices (GEN and EXC PT components) from Section 3 to Section 2 of the switchgear, and clarifies that conduit extension and cable termination are components of the separate installation contract rather than the switchgear procurement scope. The bid closing date remains April 7, 2022.
The addendum confirms that a bid bond is not required, contrary to language in section 1.21 of the bidders' instructions. Payment terms and invoicing procedures are outlined in Attachment A, Section A.9 of the original ITB document. This addendum constitutes a material change to the original Request for Proposals and was prepared by Sandra Hahn, Purchasing Analyst. No specific pricing information, contract term details, or funding sources are disclosed in this addendum document.

Installation Certification, etc?
a. Onsite Unloading requirements are detailed in Spec 10 66 10 Section 3-1.03
b. Onsite Commissioning is not a requirement.

4. Is a subcontractor selected for installation?
a. No, the installation will be contracted in the fall of 2022.
5. What is the payment schedule? Payment terms?

6. Are the 83”h x 95”w double-door dimensions correct?
a. Yes, these dimensions have been field confirmed.
7. Will the equipment be leaned over as it is moved into position?
a. Yes. The Switchgear will need to be able to be leaned to fit through the door.
8. DWG D-38389-E1 illustrates the GEN and EXC PT’s as being located in the upper space of switchgear section 3. Is it acceptable to relocate these devices to the upper compartments of Section 2 (above the Generator Breaker) instead?
a. It is acceptable to swap the devices in the upper compartment of Section 2 with the devices in the upper compartment of Section 3.
9. The reference pictures provided show a box above section 3 which connects to conduit.
Is a box like this within our scope of work or is it acceptable to have the conduit extended to the top of the cell and the cable termination in the top of the rear compartment of Switchgear Section 3?
a. A box like the one shown in the photos above Section 3 is not within the switchgear scope. Conduit for outgoing cables will be extended to the top of Section 3 as part of the installation contract.
10. Please confirm if a Bid Bond will be required. In the Bidders Instructions, Item 1.21 a bid bond is mentioned but it is not required anywhere else in the documents.
