About this file
This document is an Addendum to the bid solicitation for the Pere Marquette State Trail Wayfinding Signage Project in Clare, Osceola, and Lake Counties, Michigan. The project involves providing all labor and materials to construct, furnish, and install new signage along the Pere Marquette State Trail. A mandatory pre-bid virtual conference was held on June 8, 2022, which was attended by several prospective bidders. The bid is due on June 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM local time, and the work must be substantially completed by May 15, 2023. The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible best value bidder. The addendum provides clarifications and changes to the bid documents, including requirements for shop drawings, samples, permits, and federal funding provisions.
The bid form includes a $2,500 contingency allowance and requires bidders to provide construction/installation costs for individual sign types. A 10% preference will be given to qualified disabled veteran-owned companies. At least 50% of working employees must be Michigan residents, and prevailing wage rates apply. The owner will secure the necessary land permit, while the contractor is responsible for any local sign permits. This project is partially federally funded, so compliance with FHWA-1273, Buy America, and Davis-Bacon Act provisions is required.
