ArmorProtect®: Forced-Entry Resistant

At Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™, we offer a comprehensive collection of security glazing products for detention facilities. From ArmorProtect® Plus with 250 times the impact strength of conventional glass to ArmorResist®, our proprietary line of bullet-resistant glazing. What’s more, we’re the only manufacturer who can provide these solutions nationally. No matter where you or your projects are. It’s that kind of consistent innovation and reliable service you’ve come to expect from Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™.

ArmorProtect® attack-resistant security glazing laminates contain the toughest plastics available, often containing multiple layers for maximum forced-entry resistance. Typically, these products are used in prisons, jails and other secure establishments.

ArmorProtect® Plus is a family of multiply laminates containing one or more core layers of polycarbonate, often called glass-clad polycarbonates. Polycarbonate is the strongest available clear plastic and has 250 times the impact strength of glass. Both the inner and outer lites of the laminate are heat-strengthened glass, to provide the durability that the polycarbonate alone could not offer.

ArmorResist® is designed to resist attacks by a wide range of weapons. All the standards throughout the world have two main requirements: (1) the glazing must resist penetration by a specified bullet and (2) the spall or flying fragments leaving the rear face, as a result of the impact, must be limited.

ArmorResist® meets both of these requirements.

ArmorResist® Plus is a combination of glass, polycarbonate and advanced interlayers.

The unit is designed to flex and absorb the energy of a bullet. Note: ArmorResist®glazing materials are not classified as forced-entry resistant.

ArmorResist® Bullet-Resistant

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope™—the only national manufacturer that offers a complete line of total security glazing solutions.
