About this file
This is Construction Bid Addendum No. 1 issued by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB), Facilities and Business Services Administration, Design and Construction Division, for an Excavation and Restoration project located at 1400 North Henry Street in Bay City, Michigan. The project involves environmental remediation, including removal and management of impacted soils, asphalt surface recycling, backfilling, compaction, and site restoration. The mandatory onsite pre-bid meeting was held on July 26, 2019, with contractors required to provide unit pricing for sidewalk replacement, perform photographic documentation of the site, and coordinate with local utility providers. The bid opening is scheduled for August 14, 2019, with a recommendation from the consultant to EGLE (Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy) expected on August 19, 2019.
The bid includes detailed pricing for various project components, such as site services, mobilization, temporary fencing, asphalt removal and installation, soil excavation and disposal, backfill materials, and compaction testing. An alternate bid item allows for unit pricing of sidewalk replacement (approximately 450 square feet) in case of damage during excavation. The project site contains contaminated soils, and the excavation will not remove all contaminated materials. The contractor is required to maintain a 4:1 slope during excavation and will be monitored by a professional throughout the project. A provisional/contingency allowance of $10,000 and a third-party compaction testing allowance of $4,500 are included in the bid schedule.
