About this file
The document is an Addendum No. 1 to Invitation for Bid (IFB) #11A4077 issued by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for Weed and Brush Abatement Services in San Diego County. The IFB is for a contract to provide a 10-member crew on an on-call, per Service Request basis to perform weed and brush abatement services. The estimated quantity is 60,000 hours, with a bid submission deadline of June 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time, a bid opening at 2:30 p.m. the same day, and a proposed award date of June 10, 2025.
The addendum clarifies key details about the bid, including that pricing is cost per person based on an 8-hour workday, and explicitly states that subcontracting is not allowed. The bid requires bidders to possess a valid Department of Industrial Relations registration and a Contractors State License Board license appropriate for the work. The scope of services includes manual removal of weeds, brush, debris, and trash; pulling; mowing; pruning; raking; bagging collected materials; and plant establishment. Contractors must provide all necessary hand and power tools, as well as basic safety equipment for crew members including hard hats, vests, safety glasses, and gloves.
