Series 3 - Middle, High and Elementary Schools Renovations
GENERAL
1. This addendum is being issued to answer additional clarifications received following the previous addendum issuance; no associated attachments have been included.
Clarifications
1. Habitec is noted on the plans as the security system vendor but Habitec is telling us they no longer provide services for the school. Do you know if the school has a new security vendor?
a. This is unknown to the design team and will need to be reviewed with the owner once the project has been awarded.
2. Is there an A/V systems contractor the school currently works with for the in-room AV equipment, paging speakers, clocks?
a. Clocks and the Bogen paging speakers on previous project were done by Muzak of Toledo by Larry Zaiser who sold the company to Fairchild communications last year. Contact Chuck Fairchild or Dave Sees at
(260) 969-1226.
b. For AV that was done by CTi on the previous project, contact Jeremy Knoff 419-442-0497 but Fairchild could do it also.
3. Do they have a vendor for their phone system?
a. The last job was done by Goerge Dallas who can be contacted at the following email georgedallas@sprintmail.com
b. The service provider was Teoma Systems Casie Blackman at 248-614-
6603.
4. Please establish a allowance for tile repair once the hallway wall is removed in
AREA C. (detA2 on D1.01)
a. Refer to the notation on the demo and new work plans to remove and reinstall floor and ceiling tiles in the areas of work adjacent to the Corridor; appropriate costs should be held for this work.
5. What is the overall size of the boiler system at the High School so we can determine cost for flushing.
a. This is determined by summing up ALL of the heating water piping. We do not have this information.
6. Is flushing required at the Elementary School?
a. A full system flush should not be required for the elementary.
7. Will the Owner provide third party certification/testing for abatement?
a. Yes – 3rd party testing by the owner, with full abatement scope and cleanup by contractor.
8. On A1.11 are existing louvers. Do replacing them serve a function? Can these remain?
a. Yes this is needed for the new boilers and ventilation requirements
9. As asked before. Please provide the hardware specifications for DFH.
a. This spec section was included in Addendum 01
10. There are type G walls noted. The wall schedules on A1.00 do not indicate this type. Please clarify.
Series 3 - Middle, High and Elementary Schools Renovations
a. I think there is confusion between the wall types represented by a diamond and the signage types represented by a square keynote designation. There are type G signs that is a general sign for each room space and no type G walls.
11. What is the deck height?
a. We measured 10’-10” AFF in a couple areas but that needs to be verified in field by the contractors for final installation heights.
12. The Board Area Storage shelving appears to be installed using 2x wood framing; does this really need to be salvaged?
a. No, any built components within the areas of work that are affected by the renovations should be removed and disposed of with all other salvaged items needing to be reviewed by the owner prior to disposal.
13. The finish plans on A7.21 call-out for the existing windows to be painted however these appear to be aluminum window framing; is painting of these wanted?
a. No, the aluminum window frames are to not be painted but should be cleaned following all work within the adjacent areas.
