About this file
This is an Addendum #001 to ITB-24-017 issued by the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) for Mattresses and Pillows, with bids due February 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The addendum revises specifications for both non-incentivized and incentivized mattresses, including detailed flammability requirements such as char length not exceeding 2 inches when tested per 16 CFR 1632/1633, peak heat release rates under 100 kW, and total heat release under 25 MJ in the first 10 minutes of testing. The estimated quantities are 4,000 non-incentivized mattresses, 800 incentivized mattresses, and 4,000 pillows to be delivered to various correctional institutions throughout Florida.
The addendum also includes a new bid sample requirement where vendors must provide samples of all items listed in the Revised Price Sheet to be deemed responsive. Vendors are responsible for all costs associated with samples, which will not be returned. The incentivized mattresses require specific materials including 14-ounce double-coated vinyl covers and cumuflex cores with defined density specifications (ILD 60-80 for the 5.25" layer and ILD 80-100 for the 3" layer). Vendors with principal places of business outside Florida must submit a Florida Preference Letter to be considered responsive.
