About this file
This document is Addenda #1 for the Florida Division of Emergency Management's (FDEM) Invitation to Bid (ITB-DEM-24-25-019) for American Sign Language Interpretation Services. The addendum provides a comprehensive set of questions and answers related to the solicitation, covering details such as interpretation hours, background checks, service locations, interpreter qualifications, and bid submission requirements. The contract is anticipated to be awarded in June, with services limited to FDEM and the Executive Office of the Governor for emergency-related press briefings. Two contracts will be awarded per region, though contract usage is not guaranteed and will be determined by the agency director.
Key pricing and operational details include adherence to a two-hour minimum assignment standard with increments calculated to the nearest 30 minutes, and no mileage or travel reimbursement. Interpreters must be qualified and certified, with digital timesheets allowed. The contract is not a full-time arrangement, and purchase orders will be issued on an as-needed basis exclusively for emergency-related contexts during a State of Emergency declared by the Governor of Florida. Bidders must submit sealed bids with a thumb drive copy by May 29, 2025, at 3:00 PM to the specified FDEM address, with electronic or fax submissions explicitly prohibited.
