About this file

This document is a Capital Project Schedule for the County of Volusia, Florida, dated August 6, 2019 (revised July 31, 2019), providing a comprehensive third quarter update on multiple capital improvement projects across various county departments and service areas. The schedule outlines project status, timelines, and cost estimates for numerous initiatives spanning Business Services, Community Services, Daytona Beach International Airport, Ocean Center, Public Protection, Public Works, and Sheriff's Office divisions. Projects detailed include facility construction and renovations (New Court/Central Services Warehouse, Elections Warehouse, Hope Place Library Services Facility), infrastructure improvements (800 MHz Radio System, Taxiway November Rehabilitation, water and wastewater treatment facility upgrades), park and recreational area developments (Lemon Bluff Park, Shell Harbor Park, Edwin W. Peck Sr. Park, Dahlia Ave. Park), and security system upgrades at the Branch Jail/Corrections Facility. The document employs a Gantt chart format to display project phases including land acquisition, design/permitting, and bid and construction phases across fiscal years 2016/17 through 2021/22, with specific quarterly timelines and completion dates for each initiative.

Funding sources for these projects are drawn from multiple county accounts and external grants, including Court/Central Services Warehouse funds (368-930-4190-6200), Elections Warehouse funds (367-930-4180), General Fund accounts (305-930-4605, 305-930-4606), Community Development Block Grants, ECHO grants, FIND grants, Beach Capital funds, and city budgets contributing to countywide initiatives such as the 800 MHz Radio System with an estimated total cost of $26.6 million. Notable completed projects include the New Court/Central Services Warehouse (substantial completion May 24, 2019), Hope Place Library Services Facility (completed May 16, 2019 with ribbon cutting June 19, 2019), Fire Station 36 Renovations, and several Public Works projects. Several projects experienced schedule adjustments and cost increases due to factors including permit requirements, design modifications, inclement weather, material delays, and scope expansions. The document also contains supplementary information regarding the Emergency Medical Administration division's budget for fiscal years 2022-23 and 2023-24, including personnel, operating expenses, and system-wide operational metrics.

If you live off campus, responding to the 2020 Census is an important and easy way to shape your future. The census impacts federal funding that goes toward critical programs like Pell Grants and health care services.

Students who live on campus count too, with the help of campus housing officials.
