About this file

This document is the July 2026-2027 Supplement 66 of Standards and Technical Information Reports for Small Craft, published by the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC). It contains the most current version of ABYC standards and serves as a reference guide for manufacturers, designers, and the marine community in the construction and maintenance of small craft.

The supplement includes 14 revised standards across Equipment, Electrical, Hull, Machinery, and Industry Conformity categories, as well as 2 revised Technical Information Reports. Key revised standards include Alternating Current (AC) Generator Sets (A-27), Ventilation of Boats Using Gasoline (H-2), Boat Load Capacity (H-5), Portable and Semi-Portable Marine Gasoline Fuel Systems (H-25), Powering of Boats (H-26), Seacocks, Thru-Hull Fittings, and Drain Plugs (H-27), Inflatable Boats (H-28), Diesel Fuel Systems (H-33), Powering and Load Capacity of Pontoon Boats (H-35), Propeller Shafting Systems (P-6), Boat Capacity Labels (S-7), Boat Measurement and Weight (S-8), Safety Signs and Labels (T-5), and Design and Construction in Consideration of Aquatic Invasive Species (T-32). The document also lists organizational leadership including the Board of Directors and Technical Board members, along with contact information for ABYC staff departments covering standards, compliance, membership, education, marketing, and business development. The standards are advisory in nature and use a performance-based approach to allow flexibility in technical development while maintaining consistency with mandatory federal boating safety standards.
