About this file
This document is a gate assessment report for AASF#1's South Guard Shack, detailing the current gate system's specifications and recommended maintenance. The existing gate system was installed in 2009 and uses a Chamberlain Elite CSW200UL controller. The current setup includes safety features such as photo/safety eyes positioned a few feet off the ground, functional gate edge bumpers, and an exit gate loop detector. The scope of work involves providing and installing a new barrier arm gate system, including replacing gate motors, controllers, safety sensors, photo eyes, and bumper stops. The project also requires replacing worn mechanical components like sprockets, chains, guides, and rollers, with a final step of commissioning the system and conducting owner training.
The assessment reveals that the current gate system is generally functioning smoothly, with only past minor issues with the exit gate that have since been resolved. The gate controls are located in the guard shack interior by the east man door, and pedestrian/bike egress is currently managed through a manual padlock on the entrance gate. The system includes an electrically activated arm motor and uses an EMX Inc. IRB-4X infrared photoswitch for safety monitoring. The recommended replacement will maintain the existing safety and operational infrastructure while updating aging mechanical components to ensure continued reliable performance.
