A4. Scope of Work Provide final Asbestos Air-clearance utilizing the Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) method for the entire building.
A5. Project Objectives The objective of asbestos continuous air-monitoring is to conduct sampling in order to detect air-borne asbestos fibers that may have escaped the containment area during asbestos abatement activities and to limit exposure air-borne asbestos fibers to people outside the containment area. The objective of asbestos final air-clearance is to conduct sampling in order to detect any remaining air-borne asbestos fibers that may not have been completely cleaned up in the containment area during asbestos abatement activities and to determine where additional cleaning may be required before the containment is removed.
B. QUALITY ASSURANCE/CONTROL
Contractor will conduct all sampling and reporting activities, as determined by the NDDEQ Bid request and Asbestos continuous air-monitoring and final air-clearance contract. Contractor will comply with any sample handling, quality control, and custody procedures required by the receiving laboratory.
B1. Sampling Methods Final Asbestos Air-clearance using the PCM method (see Attachment B).
<This air clearance contractor must follow this guidance for inspection, sampling, and sample analysis> B2. Instrumentation If instruments are needed for sampling the instrument(s) must be calibrated, deployed, operated, and maintained to avoid cross-contamination and to ensure reliable information is collected.
